New Cinese Exchange Opens

China's newest stock exchange, ChiNext, opened in Shenzhen this past Friday. The exchange lists 28 stocks and ran up so much on its first day that every one of those 28 firms had to halt trading at least once after moving up more than 20%. Some companies, such as Chengdu Geeya (a cable TV equipment maker), were halted multiple times due to the exchange's circut breaker rules.

ChiNext was created to allow small and medium size firms a chance to list shares.
